Crafting - Easter Eggs

Posted by Helen (sales@) Rupp on

With Easter coming up it is great to get a few projects together for the kids to decorate and celebrate. Easter is often filled with single use waste but it doesnt have to be! Create these great Easter cards and decorations using simply cardboard, glue and paper straws!

Easter Paper Straw Decoration

What you need

  • Cardboard
  • Paper Straws (purchase a pack of 24 here)
  • Glue - Plain white glue is suitable for composting
  • Scissors or craft knife
  • Pencil

Trace an egg outline on your cardboard (we used this one) and cut out with a knife or scissors. If you leave the card that you cut it from in one piece you can use this as well... we will come back to that.

Line up and glue the straws to the egg shape in what ever order suits your fancy. Leave some length hanging over the edge as that will be trimmed back.

Let the glue dry and trim around the outside of the egg. Once the straw egg is complete you can use it for cards, stick it to popsicle sticks for decorations, hang them from string!

Now, back to the cutout piece of card. You can either use that as a base for your straw egg or fill the gap with coloured card, fabric or even pages from old books or magazines! Use your imagination!
